Makers versus Managers
Which one are you?
Picture this for me:
Someone pours themselves a matcha, opens up a laptop, fires up a terminal and executes a program. Things run silently and remotely and while the person is still sipping the first sips of matcha, they’re notified that tens of thousands of words are ready. No effort, the sipping never stopped. No art got made, a program performed a task.
A person wakes up, pours a matcha, opens a laptop and sees the bare screen. They start thinking, they start choosing and deciding and sipping, and the tea grows cold because it sits on the table while fingers find keys and words beget words. While there’s no notification that tens of thousands of anything are complete, the screen has more on it than it did before and the person feels like they’ve accomplished something, not just performed a task.
One of these people is a Manager. One is a Maker.
The tea grows cold. That’s how you know.
If this is something you feel or vibe with, you know where to find me.
Love you. Talk soon.
